Signals and signs

These are just tables occupied for things later to come

ARS/ALS System

Autodrive

Signal system on different lines

As every line has been build in different years, so most of lines do not have universal signaling on whole system. From 2001 there has been works to upgrade signal system to universal state.
right now Redline has a experimental system build where non-cab signaled trains can't travel without a special permission from dispatcher.
But Museum itself is against this new system, so right now works are halted to find good signal system what even old trains use.

Signal system table

  • DC = Decoder
  • Type = Cab or normal signals
  • Age = Age of the system
  • ADC = Autodrive compatible?
  • MFS = Manufacture of system
  • RD = Replacement date?
Line DC Type Age (or build year) ADC? MFS RD? Notes
Blue line (cyan line section) 1/5 Normal signaling 1910 (modernised in small numbers from 1986) No State railway of russian 2010 (on overhaul) Most oldest signaling system right now.
Blue line (Rest of the line) 1/5 Normal signaling 1925 No State railway of russian 2010 Same system from 1925 still in use,
signal heads just replaced with new ones.
Red line 2/6 Cab signaling with few normal signals Original system 1934, new one 2009 Yes RPT Signal works - Experimental system
Yellow line - Normal signaling 1940 No West coast railway (USA) - Old system and still use manual way to operate signals,
Works to add decoders is been halted now 10 years,
so cab signaling does not work on this line,
so mostly older train (E types)
Green line 1/5 Normal signaling 1948 No Moscow subway - -
Orange line 1/5 Mixed 1947, 1972 Yes (new system) RPM Signal works - original 1947 system was replaced in 2003 on extension works
Purple line 1/5 Normal signaling 1972 No RPM Signal works - -
Light-orange line 2/6 Cab signaling 2001 Yes Moscow subway - Built by Moscow subway, so system follow their design.

Old text area, will be fixed later.

  1. Rockport Metropolitan Switch guide
    • This information might still change**
    • Due signals are still Work in progress.**
    • VERY VERY FALSE INFORMATION! DUE STILL WIP STUFF!**

ARS/ALS codes are pretty simple still, But remember Lights do not follow Russian / metrostroi standards.

    1. info about signals.

Ruralline signaling system is build as a Custom made, Signal system is build to have somekind follow back to orignal/Metrostoi normal operations.

Big diffrence is that signals themself do not tell speed.

So ALS/ARS does only indicate current block speed, but does not tell you to slow down when there is other train near, so follow signals and proseecd how you would in 2/6 system.

SO warning for drivers, Watch for those Speed signs more than ALS/ARS indicator.

  • ### Main signals

Main signals are placed start of station section, Main signal can be told from not having letter, > Info will be rewriten!

  • ### Distant signals

Distant-signals are between station sections, Distant-signal can be told from having D letter after number, > Info will be rewriten!

  • ### Special signals

Special-signals do not have fixed places as these signals are more a signals what have been part of other groups, Special-signals can be told from S letter and having blinking Green and blue lights, These signals **DO NOT** control traffic, Signals are missing ARS-trip-arm and not part of block.

  • ### Station signals

Station-signals are part of stations and have weird setup. XX12S = XX = station name in short | 12 = Track and signal number | S = Signal group letter, These signals only allow 40km/h limit.

    1. Light order

Signals light order differs in every group, so it's very important that you learn those signals. lighting order means that what light comes on block. R-RY-Y-YG-G [Check more info here](https://wiki.metrostroi.net/index.php?title=Signalling).

    • Main signals**

five head signal 1. Red 2. Yellow 3. Yellow 4. Green 5. White light

four head signal 1. Red 2. Yellow 3. Yellow 4. Green

    • Special signals**
  • ARS/ALS cut point signal*

two head signal 1. Yellow 2. Yellow Both blinking and do not control traffic.

  • Station border signal*

In same mast as Distant signal. "reads from station entry / exit signal" two head signal 1. Red 2. Green

    • Station signals**

Do not have fixed formats and only allow 40km/h limit
